ACCOMMODATION
Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Rome offers various options for accommodation:
- Shared flat (single or double room). Apartments with two or more rooms in which the bathroom and kitchen are shared with other people. Roommates may be other Scuola Leonardo da Vinci students or Italians.
- Family (single or double room). Your stay will be with an Italian family in their apartment/home. Options for half board (breakfast and dinner included) or breakfast only are available. Bathroom facilities are shared and use of the kitchen is not included.
- Private Apartment or Hotel. You can contact the school’s main office for assistance with private apartment rentals and/or hotel accommodations.

NOTES
- Prices are per person.
- Double room is only guaranteed to students travelling together or with a companion even if he/she won’t attend a course. Students travelling alone can require and be waitlisted for bedsit in double room.
- The accommodation is available from 2.00 pm on Sunday prior to the beginning of the course, to 10.00 am on Saturday after the end of course. Different arrival and departure can be arranged on demand. Bedlinen are provided and changed every 2 weeks.
- Bathrobes not provided.
- Home-stay: Use of the kitchen is not allowed.
- Half-board option includes breakfast and dinner.
- A credit card is required to guarantee the reservation of the accommodation. Upon arrival, a security deposit of 100 euros will be required to be paid in cash. The deposit will be returned upon departure if there has been no damage to the apartment.
- In some accommodation, a local tax per day may be charged, to be paid directly to the host (amount and number of days depend on the local Municipality).

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT ACCOMMODATION
Bookings
You can book a single room or a bedsit in double room (if travelling in couple) in a self catered shared apartment or in a host family
The rooms are available from the Sunday afternoon (after 2:00 pm) before the beginning of the course to the Saturday morning (10:00 am) after the end of the course. An earlier check-in (Saturday) and/or later check-out (Sunday) must be requested.
In self catered apartments, you have a private room and you share kitchen and bathroom either with other students of the school or with an Italian tenant.
In host family, you can have breakfast or breakfast & dinner (half board) included. Meals are served by the host at an agreed time and self cooking is not allowed. The ‘family’ can be a single host, a couple or a family with kids.
Arrival Date and Time
It is very important to inform the school/host about the expected arrival time at the accommodation in order to guarantee the check-in.
Payment
Rent is due in cash upon arrival (short stays) or within three days from the arrival (min 2 weeks stay). Full advanced payment is requested for stays shorter than 8 weeks. For longer stays you can pay by instalments according to the instructions sent by e-mail
Location/Key
All the accommodations are located in central areas of Rome but none is in walking distance from the school. Average commuting time to school is 20/ 45 minutes by bus or tram.
You’ll get house keys under your own responsibility and you’ll be responsible for them during your entire stay. In the case of loss or damage, you will be requested to replace both the keys and the door locks.
Bed-linens/Towels/Laundry
Bed-linens but no bathrobes are provided in both shared flats and home stays
Shared apartments are not equipped with washing machine. Laundry service is generally available on request when staying with a host family
Utilities and taxes
The rate includes utilities (electricity, gas, water) and local taxes.
Passport Photocopy
Please provide the host with copy of your ID/passport upon arrival in order to comply with the Italian law.
ACCOMMODATION IN HOST FAMILY
Meals
Italian Breakfast can include coffee/tea/milk/juice/yogurt + bread, jam, butter or biscuits/cereal/pastries. Italian Dinner includes two courses.
House Rules in Host Families
Living with a ‘family’ offers the opportunity to experience the Italian culture and way of living from the inside but it also requires students to be very respectful of the family and of the home. So please
- Keep your room tidy
- Do not disturb if/when coming back home after mid-night
- Do not use any family belongings without permission
- Do not cook meals by yourself
- Do not use the washing-machine by yourself (laundry service once at week may be agreed upon in advance with the host)
ACCOMMODATION IN SHARED APARTMENTS
In self catering apartments students cook their own meals and are responsible for the cleanings.
House Rules in Shared Apartments
- Buy cleaning products and keep all the common areas always tidy and clean.
- Take garbage out daily
- Do not disturb if/when coming back home after mid-night
- Parties are not allowed
- Promptly report any malfunctioning or damage to the school’s staff
- Leave the room clean at your departure

Private apartments can be booked directly with the school’s housing provider. Ask the school’s staff for information and assistance
ACCOMMODATION IN HOTELS
A list of recommended hotels nearby the school can be provided upon request. Hotel rooms are to be reserved with the hotel directly.
