GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT ACCOMMODATION

Bookings:

Single or double rooms in self catered shared apartments as well as in host families may be reserved from the Sunday (after 2:00 pm) before the beginning of the course to the Saturday morning (10:00 am) after the end of the course. An earlier check-in day (the Saturday before the course begins) and/or time as well as later check-out day (the Sunday after the course is finished) or time is available upon request.

In self catered apartments, students have their own room and free use of the kitchen, which is shared as well as the bathroom either with other students of the school or an Italian tenant.

In a host family experience, breakfast & dinner, or breakfast only (halfboard), are served by the host at the previously agreed time and use of the kitchen alone is not allowed by the students. The host ‘families’ may be a single person, a couple or a central family.

In shared apartments, a double room is guaranteed to students travelling together or with a friend.

For those who travel alone, spots in a shared room are only confirmed on availablity 10 days prior to the arrival date. If it is not available, a single room will be reserved instead.

Arrival Date and Time

It is very important to inform the school/host in advance of student’s expected arrival time in order to make sure someone will be at home.

Payment

Rent is due in cash within three days from the arrival. Full payment is requested if the student’s stay is shorter than 8 weeks. For longer stays, students are required to pay in installments according to the instructions they receive along with the address of the apartment.

Location/Key

All the accommodations selected by the school are located in central Rome however very few are within a short walking distance from school. Since the school is located in the historic center of Rome, it is not connected directly with a metro station. Average commuting time to school is around 15 to 45 minutes by bus or tram.

The student will receive house key(s) by his/her own responsibility and will be responsible for them for their entire stay. In the case of lost keys, the student will be responsible for the replacement of the key(s) and door locks.

Bed-linens/Towels/Laundry

Bed-linens are provided clean upon arrival and are changed every two weeks.

Laundry service is not included so students in shared flats are not equipped with washing machine. Laundry services can be readily found all over the city. If staying with a host, clothes washing is generally allowed by the host families once at week (must be requested in advance).

Passport Photocopy

Please provide the host with copy of your ID/passport upon arrival in order to comply with the Italian law.

Meals

Breakfast is provided the way Italian’s have it (coffe/tea/milk/juice/yogurt + bread, jam, butter or biscuits/cereal/pastries) and dinner is served in two courses.
